      Coastal Press has deep roots in Carteret County, with a history that stretches back to 1948 when Earl Mades opened the doors to Mades Print Shop in Beaufort, NC. Over the years, the business evolved — first under the Heath family, who opened a second location in Morehead City and named it Coastal Press, Inc., and later under Steve Brock and the Brock family, who purchased both locations in 1996 and merged them into one in 1999.

      Since then, the Brock family has built Coastal Press into what it is today — a trusted local print shop known for quality, creativity, and community commitment. From commercial and digital printing to graphic design, mailing, and sign services, Coastal Press has grown to meet the needs of modern businesses while keeping its small-town heart.

      In 2022, the Coastal Press family experienced a heartbreaking loss with the unexpected passing of Chris Brock, whose passion, generosity, and love for the community shaped the business in countless ways. Chris left a lasting legacy — one that still inspires the work we do every day. That same year, Dawn Brock stepped forward as President and sole owner, carrying on the family tradition with strength, grace, and vision for the future.
